About Me
Hello, I'm Lisa!

I live in Cheltenham with my partner and two young children. I started making bears in March 2013. Before this I was a Project Manager in the Point of Sale Industry and I absolutely loved my job however the hours were very long and no longer suited my life as a parent as I would normally be out of the house from 7am until 7pm, sometimes longer so I decided to leave after having Phoebe.
I've always been creative and have studied art & design in some form right through my academic years. With regards to sewing, my lovely Mum taught me the basics but I'm pretty much self taught and love using my machine to make beautiful keepsake bears and cushions as well as a few other little projects along the way.
I remember putting Phoebe's first sleepsuits and vests away in a box and thinking that I didn't want them hidden away and wanted to make something from them to keep on show as a reminder of those first few weeks/months rather than putting them away in a box. So I decided on a bear and I scoured the internet for a pattern I liked and couldn't find one that I really loved so I decided to come up with my own!
I'm a perfectionist and made quite a few samples adapting my pattern until I was happy with the final bear before letting myself loose on Phoebe's precious first clothes. I showed my partner and a couple of friends who loved my bear and wanted one for themselves, so I made a few more for friends. I then decided that maybe I could take it further and make it in to a small business.
Baby to Bears is managed solely by me, each and every item is lovingly marked out, cut, sewn, stuffed and hand finished by me in my lovely sewing studio. I've made over 3000 keepsakes to date and have a waiting list that just keeps growing and I haven't looked back. I now also offer birth weight bears, other keepsake animals such as bunnies, dogs & elephants, patchwork quilts, cushions, Christmas stockings and sacks as well as other seasonal items throughout the year!

I love my 'job' and I pride myself on the quality, care and time I take with your very precious baby clothes or indeed those of a lost loved one.

It really means the absolute world to me to know that you've chosen me to make such a special keepsake for you, it's a real privilege.
